The Hive Youth and Teen Center
The Hive is the ultimate hangout designed specifically for middle and high school students who need a space that's all about them. It's a place where teens can gather with friends, engage in exciting activities, and express their creativity. Whether it's gaming tournaments, movie nights, leadership opportunities, cooking classes, or simply a spot to relax with friends, The Hive offers a variety of experiences tailored to their interests.
This isn't a child care program—it’s a teen-driven environment where young people have the freedom to be themselves. They can work on homework, explore new skills, and have their voices heard. The Hive provides the ideal setting for teens to learn, grow, and be recognized for their efforts and talents, all while having fun on their own terms.

Free After School Meals at The Hive!
Every afternoon at The Hive, all members and drop ins can enjoy a free hot meal thanks to the generous support of The Hanover Insurance Group. Each day will bring something new, from favorites like pizza rolls, grilled cheese, and spaghetti to simple one pot cooking demonstrations where teens can learn to make their own meals. We will also always have sandwich materials available for anyone who wants to make a quick snack.
We’re always looking for community partners and guest chefs who want to get involved and help us keep this program going. If you or your business would like to join in, please contact us at parksandrec@howellrecreation.org.
