UPDATE REGARDING STREET SHOES:
Fall and winter weather brings all sorts of rain, mud, snow and salt that can damage the gymnasium floors. Street shoes are not permitted when using the courts. Please bring an extra pair of shoes to wear when using the gym space at the Oceola Community Center. Thanks for your understanding and patience!

ADULT CLINICS
Adult Tennis Clinic
Monday-Friday, July 20th-24th - 6:15pm-7:15pm
This class teaches the basic skills of tennis and is ideal for adults who have never played tennis or those getting back into the game after a long hiatus. This class is also designed for players with a basic knowledge of tennis looking to improve their skills. Coach Sam Daniels is excited to work with you!
Please bring a appropriate pair of shoes, water bottle and racket if you have one- few will be available on site. Porta-Potty on site.
Registration Opens June 3rd. Deadline to register is July 15th.
Cost: $60/player (Resident) | $75/player (Non-Resident)

YOUTH CLINICS
Karate for Kids (Ages 4-14)
Tuesdays, May 12th-June 23rd - 6:00pm-7:00pm
Thursdays, May 14th-June 25th - 6:00pm-7:00pm
This program combines two crucial courses into one, Sanchin-Ryu Karate & Self-Defense and Project: Secure Child (child safety). Students will be trained with proven, age-appropriate techniques that are necessary for kids to protect themselves from attackers.
Uniforms are available, but not required.
Registration Opens April 14th. Deadline to register is May 11th (Tuesday session) and May 13th (Thursday session).
Cost: $50 (Resident) | $60 (Non-Resident)

Karate for Families (Ages 4 & Up)
Tuesdays, May 12th-June 23rd - 7:00pm-8:00pm

MAX 4 MEMBERS PER FAMILY AT THIS PRICE!
You must register all members who will participate. A parent and child program for all ages! You must register each family member. Set in a fun, non-competitive and informative atmosphere, this program allows parents to learn alongside their children. Physical techniques will be instructed along with drill and exercises, to help you have a positive experience with your self defense education. Sanchin-Ryu will teach you how to use your whole body so size and stature are not an issue.
Uniforms are available, but not required.

All Abilities Fair (All Ages)
Thursday, June 18th - 11:00am-2:00pm
Join us for a welcoming, inclusive All Abilities Fair designed for people of all ages and abilities across the Howell community. This event is thoughtfully created with and for individuals with disabilities, ensuring a supportive, engaging, and accessible experience for everyone.
Held on the OCC grounds near the pavilion, the fair will feature a variety of activities that promote connection, creativity, and well-being. Guests can enjoy visits from therapy mini horses, participate in crafts and games, and experience adaptive yoga sessions tailored to different needs and comfort levels. Music will be available for those who enjoy a lively atmosphere, along with a designated quiet area for anyone who prefers a calm, sensory-friendly space.
We also recognize the importance of supporting caregivers. A dedicated safe space will be available for caregivers to rest, connect, and comfortably store any necessary equipment or tools.
This event celebrates inclusion, community, and the unique strengths of every individual. Everyone is welcome—we look forward to seeing you there!

Summer Youth Tennis (Ages 5-17)

Learn to play Tennis is this clinic from USTA and Howell Recreation. Late registration for USTA Clinic: Howell Recreation Youth Tennis in partner with USTA. SWING, HIT & ACE is an entry-level program geared towards players aged 5-17 years old who have little to no experience playing tennis. All programming is led by USTA SafePlay™ approved providers.

Co-Ed Youth Lacrosse Clinic (Ages 5-13)
Wednesdays, August 26th - September 23rd - 5:15pm-6:45pm
Join Howell High School coach, Matt Swift during Howell Rec's Lacrosse shooting, dodging and skill development clinic. This clinic will help players become more confident with their sticks as well as their understanding of when and how to dodge successfully. This clinic is geared toward beginner to intermediate experience in all youth age groups.
Registration Opens June 10th. Deadline to register is July 11th.
