Day Camps


Hive Five Spring Break Camp (K-5th Grade)

Monday-Friday, March 30th-April 3rd - 7:30am-5:30pm

The Hive Five Spring Break Camp Program is a 1 week program.

The Camp runs Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Camp days consist of crafts, games, and activities that will have your camper tired at the end of the day! Registration can be done in person, over the phone (517-546-0693) or online. For any questions please reach out to the camp director at: ktroshak@howellrecreation.org.

Deadline to register is March 20th.

Cost: $200 (Resident) | $250 (Non-Resident)

Kids Night Out (K-5th Grade)

Session 2: Saturday, May 30th - 5:30pm-10:00pm (registration Opens April 15th)

Looking for a fun night out but not sure what to do with the kids? Sign up for a kids night out and drop the kids off at the Hive Youth & Teen Center for a night of pizza, movies, games, and more!
*Child Information Sheet (attached with receipt) must be filled out for each child unless they attended our 2026 Hive Five Summer or Winter Day Camps.

Deadline to register is May 22nd (May Session).

Cost is per session: $40 (Resident) | $60 (Non-Resident)

Hive Five Summer Camp (K-5th Grade)

Session 1: June 1st-July 3rd - 7:30am-5:30pm

Session 2: July 6th-August 7th - 7:30am-5:30pm

The Hive Five Summer Day Camp Program is a 10 week program broken down into 2 summer sessions (Session 1 & Session 2). The Camp runs Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Camp days consist of themes, crafts, physical and educational activities, field trips, or assemblies. Registration must be done in person. There is a 50% non-refundable non-transferable deposit per child per session due at registration. The deposit does go towards your overall balance. Cost (per session): $875 (Resident) | $1,125 (Non-Resident)

Registration Opens Feb 4th at 9am and must be done in-person at the Oceola Community Center! Spots fill up fast so be sure to sign up early to reserve a spot for your camper!


Sports Camps


Spring Break Sports Camp (Ages 7-12)

Monday-Thursday, March 30th-April 2nd- 9:30am-12:00pm

Join Howell Recreation and Sport Manager, Nikki and Sport Supervisor, Madison, for an exciting experience! These camps are designed for kids ages 8-12 who are eager to learn new skills and have FUN! Each day, we’ll focus on a different sport, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. There will be fun drills and activities where participants will have the chance to show off their moves while making new friends. Don't miss out on this action-packed camp where fun and learning go hand in hand!

Week Schedule:

  • Monday, March 30th - Basketball

  • Tuesday, March 31st - Soccer

  • Wednesday, April 1st - Volleyball 

  • Thursday, April 2nd - Pickleball and Pizza! 

Each day your athlete will check-in in the fieldhouse (1661 N. Latson Rd). As a group, we will warm up and then focus close to an hour and a half on skill set drills and group activities, the last hour will be set for game play. On Thursday, April 2nd we will wrap up early with a pizza party compliments of Hungry Howie’s Hartland. Athletes are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle and some snacks/a small lunch if needed. If the weather and conditions allows it, we may go outside to the play structure or soccer fields.

Start Smart Golf (Kids Ages 5-7 and Their Caregivers)

Tuesdays, April 14th-May 19th - 6:15pm-7:15pm
Thursdays, April 16th-May 21st - 6:15pm-7:15pm

Start Smart Golf is a parent/child program designed for participants and a parent or guardian to take part in together. The program introduces young players to the basic motor skills and fundamentals of golf in a fun, supportive, and low-pressure environment.

Each session focuses on:

  • Grip and swing fundamentals

  • Putting and short-range shots

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Balance, movement, and overall body control

Classes are held once a week for six weeks, with activities becoming gradually more challenging as skills and confidence grow. There is no competition or game pressure, allowing families to focus on learning, movement, and quality time together.

Deadline to register is April 3rd.
