Colors, Cranes, & Cabernet

Thursday, October 25th

Departs from the Howell VG’s Food Center at 9:00am.

Cost: $89/person

Today we will embrace what makes southeastern Michigan so incredible, especially during the fall season!  We’ll begin at the Gerald Eddy Discovery Center where we will have time to explore the exhibits before heading into the auditorium for a documentary on the majestic Sandhill Crane.  We will enjoy an informative narrated scenic drive through the Waterloo Recreation Area where the fall color is incredible!  Our guide, Tom Hodgson from the Jackson Audobon Society will take us to several of the cranes’ hot spots which always makes for a fabulous photo opportunity!  We will then head over to the Sandhill Crane Winery where we will enjoy a private lunch and signature wine tasting.

The Nutcracker at the Wharton Center

Monday, November 26th

The Capital Ballet Theatre of Michigan invites you to attend their annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker! First performed in Russia more than a century ago, the ballet has become an annual tradition in communities across the nation. After the show we will enjoy a nice lunch at the Brookshire Inn and Golf Club, all included in your price! Make sure you place your lunch order when registering. We will be passing an envelope around to tip the bus driver.

Lunch options:

Chargrilled Chicken Caesar Salad: a grilled chicken breast atop romaine lettuce, roma tomatoes, red onions, mozzarella & parmesan cheese with a Tuscan Caesar dressing.

Turkey Melt: Smoked turkey breast, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato & a savory bistro sauce on a signature Bavarian soft pretzel roll.

Italian Grinder: Shaved pepperoni, provolone cheese, Italian sausage, ham, peppers & onions on a French batard with creamy Italian dressing.


Holiday Lunch & Tour at Meadow Brook Hall

Join us as we celebrate the 47th annual Holiday Walk! After the lunch, tour the elegant rooms for the grand manor decorated for the holidays. Follow the wintry path to the “Land of Santa and Sweets” located on the grounds of Knole Cottage and Danny’s cabin! Register with us and receive a complementary gift from Meadow Brook Hall! An envelope will be passed around to tip the driver.


Soaring Eagle Casino

Wednesday, December 19th

Departs from the Howell VG’s Food Center (2400 W. Grand River Ave.) at 10:00am.

Cost: $40/person

Casino Trips are back!  This trip to the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI includes: $20 premium play, $10 Bingo Bucks, & $5 dining voucher.  Don’t forget to bring your players card!

A Christmas Story - The Musical

Thursday, December 20th

Departs from the Howell VG’s Food Center at 4:00pm.

Cost: $134/person

Based on the perennial holiday movie favorite, A Christmas Story: The Musical chronicles young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker as he schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200 Shot Range Model Air Rifle (“You’ll shoot your eye out kid!”).  We will enjoy dinner at a Detroit restaurant before taking our reserved seats at the fabulous FOX Theatre.
