Swimming Lessons
WELCOME TO THE LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM!
Winter 2011/2012 Aquatic brochure click here
The Howell Area Aquatic Center invites you to join our "School of Fish" swim program for children 6 months to 7 years old. For those who have completed the “School of Fish” you can continue on to the American Red Cross Levels. Students are placed in classes based on their swimming skills, so ages listed are to be used as a guideline. This program is designed to teach skills that are age appropriate, emphasizing safety facts, parent-student-teacher interaction, and assessment of student skills. This will be taught in conjunction with the Red Cross Levels III-V. It has been our experience that students normally need to enroll in each class level twice, before successfully completing all the required skills to pass on to the next level. Therefore, our recommendation when enrolling your child for more than one session during the registration process is that they sign up for the same class twice before moving up a class level. If they are ready to pass upon completion of their first session, it's easier to move them up rather than down a level. A minimum enrollment is necessary, with the understanding that if not met, classes may be canceled. Hot tub will be closed during swim lessons.
