NEW!!! TWO TIER FEE STRUCTURE
For many years, we have employed a three tier fee structure, as each municipality contributed different amounts. But that is all changing with the Spring/Summer 2013 Program Guide. A hearty welcome isin order to our two newst full tier 1 members - Genoa Charter Township and Marion Township. They join the City of Howell and Oceola Township as full contributing members of the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority at the $100,000 level.
Which means that all muncipal members are now at the same contribution level, which allows us to put into motion a Two Tier Fee Structure - Residents and Non-Residents. Our operating budget of nearly $1.25 million is supported not only by participation fees, but by the healthy contributions that are provided by these four municipalities. This structure provides an equitable solution to the differences between contributing members and non-contributing government entities. Residents of the four municipalities mentioned above are afforded 50% lower fees on most activities than non-residents.
Two tier pricing is based on municipal funding levels:
Tier 1: Residents of the City of Howell, Genoa, Marion, and Oceola Townships
Tier 2: All other townships
Example: $45/$90 Tier 1 / Tier 2
SCHOLARSHIPS AND REDUCED FEE POLICY
The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority scholarship program is designed to provide financial assistance to children who wish to experience and participate in our recreational activities and programs. While it is our intent to provide recreational activities to all residents, limitations of how much scholarship assistance families can utilize have been put into place. This ensures that each deserving child will be able to participate in at least one activity per year. Click here to view our policy and to print the form for assistance.
