Anyone under 18 years of age may be asked to take a swim test before using the deep end at the lifeguards’ discretion. US Coast Guard approved floatation devices are allowed, however only in the shallow end. Anyone wearing a life jacket must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times. Toys and noodles are available for use in the shallow end only. Safety breaks may be conducted at the lifeguards’ discretion. Diving board, slide, and hot tub will be opened alternately at guards’ discretion. Hot tub available to anyone ages 14 and older.

Inflatable Activity Center - Aqua Duel Swim
On your mark, get set...have fun! Take the challenge – maintain your balance, or plunge into the water. Our new inflatable activity center will test your strength, speed and agility. Use as a race course and try to beat your best time. Prepare to get wet! This new addition will work on balance, coordination, and motor function. This activity center is anchored in the shallow end
allowing you and your family to try this new entertainment
option! Held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.

Flick n’ Floats
A Howell Area Aquatic Center tradition on the 2nd Friday of the month, September to May! Float on an inner tube while we entertain you and your family with a special Float-in movie. Inner tubes and lifejackets are provided. Children under 48” or younger than 3 years old must have an adult in the water and remain within arms’ reach. Check out our alternate rules in the office when signing in for this monthly event. Children under 14 must have an adult in the building.
Note: This event replaces the normally scheduled Family Swim. Free Open Swim Passes do not apply to this special event. Suggest our next movie and you could win FREE entrance! All movies will be announced before the scheduled date.

Enjoy a swim, a workout, or simply relax to music while you float. Ideal for you to swim and enjoy, choose from the hot tub, slide, or diving board for those who swim. Shallow water is open with basketball and swim toys. For your safety, our swims are staffed by certified lifeguards at all times. Non-swimmers, children less than 48” in height, and any child wearing a US Coast Guard approved life jacket must be
accompanied in the water by an adult within arms reach.

Family Swim (all ages)
This is the perfect time for your family to relax and play in the water! The shallow and deep ends are available for your swim; however please realize this is not a designated lap swim time. Choose from the slide, hot tub (only for those 14 years and older), or diving board. All areas are rotated by our certified lifeguards on duty to ensure your safety. Children under 14 must be accompanied in the building by an adult. Swim-O-Rama/Adult Swim (ages 18 & up)
This is a non-instructional open swim for adults only (at least 18 years of age). All fitness levels are invited to splash, stretch, walk and talk while enjoying the pool. Ideal for seniors, you can choose from noodles, kick boards or barbells while listening to your favorite oldies tunes.

After School Swims (grades K-5)
This swim is open to all elementary schools each Friday from 3:45pm-5:00pm, with transportation provided on the rotational schedule noted below. To ride the bus, students must sign up in their elementary school office. Permission slips required - see elementary schools for details. Any non-swimmers and any child under 48” tall must be accompanied in the water by an adult and be within arms reach. Children must be picked up by 5:15pm. The Aquatic Center is not responsible for unsupervised children who are not in the pool area.

Swim the Great Lakes - Lap Swim
“Swim the Great Lakes” at the Howell Area Aquatic Center. Track your mileage with our convenient wall log near the spa, and see how many of the Great Lakes you can swim. Choose from our training equipment including pull buoys, kickboards, and training fins). Children ages 8-12 must be accompanied by an adult in the
water while lap swimming during these times. During
designated lap swim hours a minimum of 2 lanes will normally be provided. Please check with the lifeguard regarding pool etiquette for lap swimming. Extra room is not always available, so when 3 or more are swimming in one lane, circle swimming is required. While circle swimming always stay on the right side, and get the attention of those already swimming when you enter to avoid collisions/injury.
