Mikula has been the Director of the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority since September 2007. Debbie lives in the City of Howell and is excited about contributing her time and energy to make her hometown a dynamic and vibrant place to live, work and visit. Prior to joining the Parks & Recreation Authority, Debbie served for 10 years as the Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies, a statewide nonprofit arts and cultural service organization. Prior to this, Debbie was the CEO of Cultural Communications, Executive Director of the League of Historic American Theatres in Washington DC, and the Executive Director of the Manistee Civic Players at the historic Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee, Michigan. Debbie earned her bachelor's degree in Theatre from Michigan State University and completed her course work for an MA in Arts Management from American University in Washington DC. She is currently the president and an active member of the Community Theatre of Howell and was one of the founders and producers for the first 7 years of the Concerts at the Courthouse in downtown Howell.
