ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT

Come on out and join the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority during the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Free Fishing Weekend when all license fees will be waived. We will be holding and Ice Fishing Tournament on Thompson Lake. Click here for more information.

Michigan Recreation & Parks Association (MRPA) and the Detroit Red Wings have teamed up for the 2011-2012 season, take advantage of special discounted tickets for these select games.The Red Wings organization will donate proceeds from each ticket sold, to be split between MRPA and Howell Parks & Recreation Authority.  Save up to 50% off the box office price. Each year we serve over 77,000 individuals through our programs and services.  Because of the myriad events that we offer,  two times each year (Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer) we print an 80 page program guide, and each month we produce 50 & Beyond, a 12+ page senior center newsletter.  We hope that you will consider taking advantage of some advertising opportunities that we have to offer. The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority has opened the first 18-hole disc golf course in Livingston County.  The Marion Disc Golf Course was designed by Jim Davis from Envision Disc Golf and will be open for play year-round from dawn to dusk for free.  All holes are considered par 3 and players must provide their own discs.  Course is located at 2877 W. Coon Lake Rd.

SCHOLARSHIP AND REDUCED FEE POLICY

The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority scholarship program is designed to provide financial assistance to children who wish to experience and participate in our recreational activities and programs.  While it is our intent to provide recreational activities to all residents, limitations of how much scholarship assistance families can utilize have been put into place.This ensures that each deserving child will be able to participate in at least one activity per year. Click here to view our policy and to print the form for assistance.
