5K Training


What is the Howell Parks & Recreation 5K Training?  
We are a 10 week/2 nights a week, supported training program for men and women walkers, walk to runners, and runners of all ages!  The training and clinics will focus on fitness and well-being.

Who is this program for?  
People who are challenged by walking a half mile, those who are comfortable running three miles, and every pace and distance in between.

How much is it and how do I sign up?  
The cost is $75.  You can register online via RunSignUp.

What do I get for that fee?  
All participants will receive a Howell Parks & Recreation Melon Festival water bottle, coaching support, and an invitation to attend two group training sessions each week, an in-store discount coupon for Playmakers, training-related clinics, entry into our goal 5K event, and a weekly
newsletter.

When and where is the training held?  
We will train on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6pm for 10 weeks.  These training sessions are held at the Bennett Recreation Center, 925 W. Grand River Ave in Howell) which will lead up to running a 5K!

5K Training - Melon Run Edition
Coach's meeting is June 2nd.
Training begins  June 6th and is every Tuesday and Friday at 6pm until race day, August 18th.
