Adult Sports Leagues

The Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority is thrilled to be able to offer a wide variety of adult sports for citizens of the Howell area. Whether it is organized leagues or drop-in, we have it. We offer the following sports throughout the year: Men’s, Women’s, and Co-Ed Soccer, Co-Ed Softball, Men’s Basketball, Co-Ed Volleyball and Women’s Volleyball.

Basketball

Basketball is a team sport that was first played in 1891.  It is played between two teams with 5 players on each side.  Basketball involves the techniques of dribbling, passing, shooting, and teams in offensive and defensive situations.  The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority offers leagues for men in the Winter.  For more information on Men's Basketball Leagues, click here.

Softball

Softball is a team sport that is very popular in the United States.  It would be referred by many as the sister sport of baseball.  the softball is a larger version of the baseball.  We offer Co-Ed Softball leagues in the summer for teams comprised of 10 or more players. For more information, click here.

Volleyball

Volleyball is an Olympic team sport in which two teams of 6 players, separated by a high net, each try to score points against one another by grounding the ball on the other team's court. Co-ed  and Women's Volleyball leagues take place in the Fall/Winter. Soccer

Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the entire world, played by millions world wide.  One of the greatest things about soccer is it can be played by children as yound as 3 and adults of any age.  The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority offers Soccer Leagues of Men, Women and Co-Ed in the Spring, Summer and Fall. For more information on Fall Soccer Leagues click here.

Golf Lessons & Leagues

Golf is a precision club-and-ball sport, in which competing players, using many types of clubs, attempt to hit balls into each hole on a golf course while employing the fewest number of strokes. The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Autority offers lessons and leagues, click here.

 

Kickball

Kickball is a playground game and competitive league game, similar to baseball, invented in the United States circa 1942. Kickball is also known as soccer-base or soccer-baseball.

The game is typically played on a softball diamond with a 10- to 16-inch (250- to 400-mm) inflated rubber ball. As in baseball/softball, the game uses 3 bases and a "home plate."
