Introduction to Tennis(Rally Ball) Ages 7-12

The United States Tennis Association of Southeast Michigan would like to introduce the game of Tennis to your child. We teach with a "game-based" approach, where the children play first and take instruction when needed. Our six week session will combine basic tennis fundamentals in combination with the USTA'S New Team Tennis Game-RALLYBALL! Rallyball is a game designed for your child to learn the basic skills of tennis and have fun with their friends, while participating in a team sport. Traditional serving and scoring are slightly modified to make it easy to be successful and fun right away, while introducing tennis concepts, tennis terminology and tennis skills. Every good hit earns points for your team. We also add our own brand of fun games like "Silly Tennis", "Champs", "Statues", "Jail", "Sandwich", "Walk the Dog" and more. All designed for your child to exercise and have fun. We conduct these classes on the gym floor with portable tennis nets and foam tennis balls.

All equipment is provided, and every child receives a t-shirt and Introduction to Tennis booklet designed specifically for our recreation classes. Children should wear comfortable clothes and must wear tennis shoes.
