Special Sports Events     2011 Doc May Commemorative Melon Ride         Saturday, August 20 9:00am-11:00am   “Cycle Howell” is gearing up to sponsor a 15 mile ride to commemorate the wonderful contribution made by Dr. Pat May in helping to establish the Howell Melon Festival many years ago. The “Doc May Commemorative Melon Ride 2010” will take place on Saturday, August 21 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Livingston County Courthouse.  The 15 mile bike ride will meander through historic neighborhoods, the McPherson Park bike path, the newly constructed Crosstown Trail, Howell City Park, Lakeview Cemetery, and the neighborhood on the south side of Thompson Lake and end up back at the Livingston County Courthouse around 11 a.m. where Howell melons and melon ice cream will be served as a special treat.  All riders will receive a route map and a “Doc May  Commemorative Melon Ride 2010” t-shirt.Site: Livingston County CourthouseThe cost for the ride is $15 if you pre-register and $20 on the morning of the ride.
