5th Annual Buck Pole  Thursday, November 15, 2012 4:00pm-9:00pm  For those of you who bag a buck during opening day of firearms season in Livingston County, the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority, Marion Township and Anything that Moves want to help you earn your bragging rights at the 4th Annual Buck Pole, where hunters will gather to share stories, photos and enjoy the warming tent, hearty food, a bonfire and chances to win great prizes. Boy Scout Troop 364 will sponsor a Chili Taste Testing to compliment all of the fun that is anticipated. For $10 registration fee, you'll be able to hang your deer and receive a cap and photo of yourself with your deer. You don't need to have the largest buck to enter the contest either as we'll also be awarding heaviest, most points, widest rack, most unique rack and youngest hunter to bag a buck (18 & under). Site: Marion Township Hall, 2877 W.  Coon Lake Road  RULES -$10 registration fee to hang deer. -Deer must be completely field dressed. -Hunter must furnish general area in Livingston County, time, and who shot the deerPoints must be 1” or longer to be counted. -Spread shall be measured by the widest inside dimension of the rack. -No deer can be removed until all prizes are awarded -Deer must be hanging by 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15 to be eligible for any prize. -Weather conditions permittingEach entry will receive a photo of hunter with his/her deer. -Should weather conditions require removal of the deer (temperatures over 50 degrees), the hunter must still be present at 8:00 p.m. on November 15 in order to receive any prizes. -Final decision of awarding prizes for deer will be at the discretion of the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority Buck Pole committee. -Awards ceremony begins at 9:00pm. -One prize per deer.
