Outdoor Adventure for Youth (ages 7-12)
Participants will learn the basics of preparing for a camping trip - packing, setting up camp, food, tying knots, getting around (and staying around), watching the weather, as well as great experiments, crafts, and projects. A $15 material fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

Scavenger Hunt (all ages)
Explore the beauty of Marion Oaks via a scavenger hunt. Each hunt will be unique and relevant to the season. Participate as an individual or as a team. Each hunt will present various degrees of difficulty in order to engage the participants of various abilities. Being the entire family and experience the natural wonder at Marion Oaks. Dress for the weather and bring any equipment that might aid you in your hunt. Pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash no longer than 6' and under the owners immediate control. Snowshoeing (ages 6-adult)
Seeing the winter world by snowshoe allows you to travel in many places you cannot ski or hike to. Learn about snowshoe selection and types of snowshoes. Family Adventure Race (ages 6 & up)
This family friendly adventure race is for parents and their children between the ages of 6 and 16. A minimum of one parent and one child constitutes a team and will race through a 3 to 6 mile course of running and trekking. In addition "mystery" challenges will be included. All levels welcome. This is an introductory race to get families active and introduced to adventure racing. Adult must be 18 years or older. Child must be between the ages of 6 and 16. Team divisions will be based on the age and gender of the youngest child member of the team. Additional information will be distributed at least 1 week prior to the race date.

Participants will learn how to use signs of nature as well as the evolution of manmade tools to find their way. We will begin with how the early settlers navigated, learn to use a compass for basic orienteering and progress to the high tech scavenger hunt using GPS units. Archery - Open Range, Private and Small Group Instructors (ages 6 & up)
The archery range will be open and staffed by a Range Officer. Range instructions will be provided and must be respected. Participants may bring their own equipment and practice. Program equipment may be rented on an availability basis. Private and small group instruction is available by appointment during open range sessions. Instruction is based on participant experience, ability, and goals (small groups will be instructed at appropriate level for safety and success, therefore participants should be of similar developmental level). Private and small group instruction/supervision may be customized to accommodate customized instruction/practice such as shooting from a ground blind, elevated platform, adaptation for special needs. Range will be closed Monday, 9/6.
